If you choose to insure your jewellery, a valuation is required for your insurance policy. As the price of gemstones and precious metals varies over time, you may be required by your insurance broker to update your valuation to ensure your jewellery is fully covered. A valuation will include a photo of the piece and a description of the materials including metal carat, stone weights and stone types.
